I'm back...just not here. [Jun. 18th, 2005|05:17 am]
[mood |sleepysleepy]
[music |Mr. Bungle - Platypus]

Finally have internet again. And as such with all the crazy transitions I've undergone within the last few months, there also be a new journal...

And that, as they say, is that.

Post MAGFest Meeting Stuffs [Nov. 27th, 2004|07:06 pm]
[mood |awakeawake]
[music |Inheretics - Maximum Carnage]

We covered some ground today. Including two possible hotels (our best options in Charlottesville, anyways).
- Omni in downtown
- Doubletree in Albemarle

Right now the Omni is looking like our best option in terms of ballrooms and potentially pricing (considered Doubletree doesn't give us a better rate). Both of the hotels are VERY nice, a definate impovement from the Clarion.

We also discussed the following things:
-The 2005 Gamer Girl calendar
-The concert sampler "A Taste of MAGFest"
-Promo touring and possible dealing with Prezcon and Megacon
-MiniMAG - And how we can make it work without killing ourselves
-Potential dealings with Jones Soda (???)

Next meeting we'll hopefully have more in the way of dates and stuff, but we can say right off the bat that we've got 14 bands now trying for concert time already. ^^

MAGFest Update [Oct. 24th, 2004|05:50 am]
[mood |thirstythirsty]
[music |Esham - Woo woo woo woo]

We had our first meeting last night, and we came to the following conclusions...

-Keeping the registration system from last year, only expanding and scheduling a lot more people next year.
-And as long as we're on the note of staff, WE NEED MORE STAFF!
-Expand our promoting, targeting concerts, music festivals, etc.
-Relocating to a new city was briefly discussed, but we're all pretty against it at this point.
-Bawls = $$$, meaning we might make Bawls just a bit more available next year.
-New online staff training resource center, coming soon.
-Next year, flagrant alcohol users beware.

So now, the task of organizing begins...

Next meeting's happening sometime next month...specific date to come soon.

[music |Mack 10 & Ice Cube - Pistol Grip Pump]

Def Jam: Fight for NY is one of the tightest games I've gotten to play in a while. Example of why its so awesome....

I managed to pull myself away from it before the sun starts coming up, which is more than I can say for the last two nights. ^^

Post MAGFest Damage Report [Oct. 7th, 2004|10:52 am]
[mood |productiveproductive]
[music |Virt - Dr.Mario]

My first post since MAGFest (and in quite a while it seems). Wow...
MAGFest went pretty well this year, Despite some really big problems (low on staff, having the Vid room pushed around into a random spot on the third floor of the hotel, being way behind schedule) we still managed to make it a successful event.
So, as my old DM would ask me when he was about to give bonus EXP, "What did we all learn here?"
First of all, never get drunk and try to start a mosh pit during a Minibosses show on your off-hours. Both of my ankles are nearly healed, which is good since I have a body mechanics class in four hours. ^^;
I also learned that I'm gonna have to have a much bigger online presence to really make the video room a success. Thankfully, school's nearly over. Graduation is in a week and a half. Then it's work work work until I can acquire the funds to pay my debts and...acquire some...equipment.
RoopeCentral will once again be revamped soon. When, I cannot say, but it will soon be acting as a database for the video room.
Until then, I advise everyone to check out the MAGFest forums. Ooh yeah.
As for awesome M3 stuff. I got to see Silent Horror (the latest X-strike production) in its rough cut stage. I saw it during the premier, passed out in a depressed and physically broken stupor the night of the reshowing. I later got to see it in Tazewell Hall at W&M in a private reshowing with me, Brendan, Rez, Dan, Patrick, Ryan, and some other dude whose name I can't remember. And for those of you who don't know, Silent Horror is THE SHIT. Both highly amusing and at times creepy, SH delivered everything I'd hoped it would.
Lessee, I got to hang out and chat with awesome people like the people from X-Strike, Wave Theory, Empire Arcadia, Naz, and some familiar faces from last year's MAGFest. That was cool because I didn't get to do much of anything last year, outside of sitting in the vid room.
I actually played a few games even. All and all, it was an awesome, yet highly angering experience.
And with that, I'm off to finish putting all my stuff away (I still haven't finished unpacking...).

Yo [Apr. 8th, 2004|09:03 pm]
[mood |calmcalm]
[music |Paul Van Dyk - The Politics of Dancing - Disc 1]

It's been awhile, but I think it's about time I updated. The bigger news most of you probably already know, but eh, I list a quick update anyways, as I have M3 work to do and I plan on being in bed before 11.
-Biggest thing: I moved out of my house roughly a week and a half ago. I'm now living in the house with Issac and Adrianne. It was a change that desperately needed to happen, and now both my Mom and I are much happier. She actually feels compelled to fix up her house now.
-As a result of my moving out without concern for money or transportation, I learned a little about taoism. Everything does seem to fall into place when you follow nature's path rather than struggle against it. Before, I had a dead car, and a stack of bills. I still have that stack of bills with a little rent thrown in that needs to be paid, but I have a car on the way. Mom was apparently impressed enough with me to decide she'd rather help me get a car than let me take a bike to work, even though work is not that far away. So, Wednesday I get a car, thanks to my Mom (whom I have to pay back as soon as possible), and Dan (who directed me towards the person sellng the car). A 90 Honda Accord with a rebuilt engine. Best part is, it's a 5 speed ^^.
-School is finally kicking my ass. I've come to the realization that studying needs to be an everyday thing if I'm gonna learn all these fucking muscles. I got a 72 on my test today, and that's after extra credit so I naturally failed. Very disappointed with me and just a little depressed because of it. But, I'll retake the fucker since I can do that once per unit. A week of hardcore studying will either kill me or make my kung fu stronger.
Speaking of Kung Fu, I watched the first episode of that today thanks to Issac borrowing the DVD box set from his Dad. Oh Kung Fu, where have you been all my life.
And with that, I'm off to do some M3 planning, maybe a little studying in between.
Till nexttime, friends!

Take three steps back. [Mar. 15th, 2004|11:10 pm]
[mood |workingworking]
[music |System S.F. feat Anna - Look to the Sky (True color mix)]

Best line from Friday night, hands down. Compliments a la Devin.
It's been a long time since I updated, as is apparent by the insane amount of entries in my friends log. But then again, I've been hella busy these last few weeks. Between two jobs and school, I don't get a lot of time to myself...especially for any sort of entry I'd like to create. So rather than laying down an eloquent assortment of experiences and thoughts, I'm going for classic and best...yon bulleted list ^^.

-Went to Kelly's 21st birthday party Friday night, had a fun time watching drunken people interact with each other and pass out, only to be molested by gay high school students.
-Spent the weekend in Charlottesville (mostly) learning joint mobilization and craniosacral therapy. Two opposite ends of the spectrum. Shake someone like a rag doll then gently rearrange their skulls. Awesome stuff, neh?
-Almost got a new vehicle, but was shot down by the insurance companies that refuse to cover me. Stupid 5 moving violations...
-Picked up Tenacious D for two bucks at the pawn shop. Went to the other one and found Straight Outta Compton by NWA for 4. It was also there that I found the original game boy Tetris for 5 bucks.
-I'm once again addicted to DDR. I'll probably be picking up Max 2 before too long.
-Took the first portion of the muscular system test (It's divided into three sections) Pulled an 88. No complaints there, the material is hard...and I studied hardcore for all of one night (all the other nights I ended up passing out ^^;).
-Rediscovered some of my old CDs. i.e. Jimmy's Chicken Shack - Pushing the Salmonella Envelope. I had forgotten how fucking good that album was. Those were sad times for music though, the last days of grunge before the shit that's popular now took over. Ah well, music is always changing, evolving. Hopefully whiny bitch punkers will evolve into real musicians before too long.
That's it for the most part, sadly. I've gotten used to getting up no later than 7:30 nearly every morning almost (as is apparent to me as I'm yawning a lot currently) and spending the day either at work or school, and that usually doesn't make for interesting subject matter. Some things have been going through my head lately as well, but nothing I'd like to divulge currently. I'm probably just drained and tired. So in lieu of these events, I bid you all a good morning.

As always we thank you for shopping at Bad Kitty.

And then I did some black tar heroin... [Feb. 20th, 2004|02:07 am]
[mood |awakeawake]
[music |Wesley Willis - Kill Whitey]

Well not really, but I thought that'd make an amusing subject.
The past couple days have been very busy. It's an interesting experience not having a car currently. Patience...
I've been occupying the time with various projects that I should be doing already anyways. Making plans for MAGfest and writing flash cards for muscles (including origin to insertion attachments, actions the muscle is capable of, etc) are among these such projects.
I'll be able to do some work in landscaping next week, which means I'll not be as broke as I currently am...fucking reckless ticket.
Ah well, as it is the driving force of existence, I am appreciative to irony.
Today Ogre and I went shopping at the newly opened Asian Market in C-town, conveniently across from our school. ^^ It's so nice, being able to take a ten minute walk for some pocky, only paying 79 cents per box...but anyways, I picked up lots of good stuff and ended up making beef and broccoli lo mein...it turned out not bad, considering I know nearly nothing about Asian cuisine.`I think I'll be buying better noodles next time though.
And well, that's it pretty much. I'm going to take a shower and get ready for work in about 6 1/2 hours. Wheeeee
